God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

“When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.”
– Numbers 30:2
We are made by God, in His image, church. You are the image of God.
Let your very words carry the heavy echo of trustworthiness and truth-full-ness we see written to us in whispers and shouts, God’s Word.
How deeply do you value your honesty? How much does it matter to you that you are trustworthy? Does what comes out of your mouth echo the voice of God?
There is no other way to speak. There is no other way to be known. There is no other way to be.
Are you trustworthy, church? Are you truth-full?
Ask your children. They know.
Ask your wife, or your husband. They know.
And if even they don’t, God does.
Our mouths are open church. We speak.
Are we trustworthy? Are we truth-full?
Open your mouth church. And speak as God speaks.
